One of the reasons I enjoy shooting stock is because I feel like I'm telling part of a story then tossing it out to the world to see how it's finished. I was shooting some fairly "typical" gothy ("girl swirling around in white dress with wind blowing") stuff with Nettie and she was getting into looking sad. Then my eye fell on the revolver that I had sitting on the prop shelf in my studio. I handed it to her and said, "OK. you just shot him." That was it. Nettie did the rest, and now it's up to you to finish the story.
